Sage

S
Salvia

Sage Officinalis must be used with extreme caution as it is very toxic because of its tuyona content. The esclarea sage is not toxic as it has esters instead of ketones (tuyona). Its scientific name comes from “salvare”, which means “save”. The name of “esclarea” comes from the Latin “clarus” (clear), applied to sage for its usefulness for those with tired eyes or blurred vision.
